Admission of Foreign Students/Pakistani origin under self-finance scheme (SFS) for the Session 2009-2010

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have the honor to inform you that under the Self-Finance Scheme (SFS), some seats are reserved in the disciplines of Medicine (MBBS), Dentistry (BDS), Pharmacy (Pharm-D) and B.Sc. Engineering for admission of foreign students as well as Pakistan Origin having dual nationality in various colleges/universities of Pakistan for the Academic Session 2009-2010.

For admission under SFS, the students who have acquires their HSSC or equivalent qualifications (either from Pakistan or abroad) are eligible to apply. Application form, eligibility criteria, terms & conditions/guidlines and rate of tuition fee etc. can be downloaded from HEC website: www.hec.gov.pk/sfs

You are requested to furnish the nominations of eligible candidates on the prescribed application form along with attested copies of their educational documents(four copies) to this Commission latest by 15th August 2009.

Bed Linen Import Notice

As of 5th March 2009, import of Pakistani Bed Linen to the European Union will no longer be liable to payment of anti-dumping duty. The expiry notice of this anti-dumping measure was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 5th March 2009.

Important Visa Notice:

The following documents will be required before issuing a Pakistani visa:

  1. Exact address of stay with telephone number in Pakistan, supported by letter of invitation and confirmation of accommodation, if considered necessary.
  2. Evidence of support of financial means, such as employer’s letter or bank statement.
The visa will be issued two days after the receipt of application and the interview.
 

Belgian government grant to BBRI

The Embassy of Pakistan welcomes with deep appreciation the Belgian government’s fresh grant of 400,000 Euros to the Belgian Building Research Institute (BBRI) for the project "Kashmir Recovery Recycling Rehabilitation." This project envisages installation of a Rubble Recycling Plant in the earthquake-stricken city of Muzaffarabad. The Embassy also recognizes with gratitude the efforts of other Belgian partners of the project: the Construction Confederation and Ingeieurs zonder Grenzen. The sincere involvement of all the members of the Patronage Committee- Kashmir for realization of this project is also acknowledged with praise.
