Embassy of Pakistan in Belgium, Qaid-e-Azam

The Islamic republic of Pakistan emerged on the map of the world as an independent sovereign state on 14th August 1947, as a result of the division of the former British India. It lies between 23-35 to 37- 05 north latitude and 60-50 to 77- 50 east longitude. It touches the Hindukush mountains in the north and extends from the Pamirs to the Arabian Sea. It is bounded by Iran in the west, Afghanistan in the north-west, India in the east and south east and Arabian Sea in the south. There is a common border with China alongside Gilgit and Baltistan in the north.

Trilateral Core Group on Afghanistan meets in Brussels

As part of the high level consultations between Pakistan, Afghanistan and the United States, a Trilateral Core Group meeting was held in Brussels on 24 April 2013, which was attended by the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Mr. Hamid Karzai, Secretary of State of the United States, H.E. Mr. John Kerry, and Chief of Army Staff of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani. Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani also attended the talks.

Pakistan to participate in talks in Brussels on Afghanistan

As part of the high level consultations between Pakistan, Afghanistan and the US, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Chief of Army Staff and Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani will be proceeding to Brussels for the Trilateral Core Group Meeting with Mr. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and Mr. John Kerry, US Secretary of State, on 23-24 April 2013. During the meeting, matters relating to peace and stability and national reconciliation in Afghanistan will be discussed.

73rd National Day Celebrations in Brussels Belgium

The 73rd National Day of Pakistan was celebrated at the Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels in a simple and dignified manner. A large number of Pakistanis living in Belgium attended the ceremony with enthusiasm and zeal.

The ceremony started with recitation from the Holy Quran. Mr. Munawar Saeed Bhatti, Ambassador of Pakistan to the Kingdom of Belgium, European Union and Grand Duchy of Luxembourg performed the flag hoisting ceremony. The messages by the President and the Prime Minister on the National Day were read out at this occasion.

Colours of wedding in Pakistan on display for APWA

Mrs Fazeelat Saeed, wife of Ambassador Munawar Saeed Bhatti,Pakistan's Ambassador to EU, Belgium and Luxembourg organized a colorful event at Pakistan House on 28 February 2013. All members of Asia Pacific Women Association were invited. The theme of the function was 'Wedding in Pakistan' where atmosphere of a wedding was created by various festivities. Members were also shown a documentary on  wedding ceremonies in Pakistan.

The participants appreciated the event and were delighted by the fact that Pakistan,its traditions and colors of its weddings are being brought to Brussels for all APWA members to see.
