The Islamic republic of Pakistan emerged on the map of the world as an independent sovereign state on 14th August 1947, as a result of the division of the former British India. It lies between 23-35 to 37- 05 north latitude and 60-50 to 77- 50 east longitude. It touches the Hindukush mountains in the north and extends from the Pamirs to the Arabian Sea. It is bounded by Iran in the west, Afghanistan in the north-west, India in the east and south east and Arabian Sea in the south. There is a common border with China alongside Gilgit and Baltistan in the north.

AMBASSADOR JILANI LODGES PROTEST OVER NATO/ISAF ATTACKS ON PAKISTAN BORDER POSTS

Brussels: 26 November 2011

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Belgium, European Union and Luxembourg Mr. Jalil Abbas Jilani  has lodged protest over NATO/ISAF helicopters’ attacks on two Pakistan Army border Posts in Mohamand agency on the night of 25/26 November 2011 at around 02:00 local time when the NATO/ISAF helicopters and fight aircraft from Afghanistan intruded about 1.5 miles into Pakistan territory and attacked two posts that resulted in martyrdom of at least 24 troops including two officers besides injuring 13 soldiers.

Brussels: September 12, 2011

The unprecedented rains in southern Pakistan have wreaked havoc with the lives of millions of people besides causing huge devastation to livestock and standing crops. Hundreds of people have lost their lives and over five million people have been displaced and directly affected by this natural disaster.

Over four million acres of land is under water; 2.5 million acres of crops have been destroyed; and over a million houses have been damaged or washed away.
The situation is deteriorating with forecast of more widespread rains in the area. A massive relief and rescue operation is being undertaken by government of Pakistan.

In order to participate in relief efforts, Pakistani community in Belgium and Luxembourg can make financial contributions in the following bank account:
